Interesting facts
| Charmes-Chambertin is one of Gevrey-Chambertin's nine Grand Crus. The vineyard produces softer red wines from Gevrey-Chambertin's stretch of grand cru vineyards. Soils are well-drained and stony with thin pebble-strewn chalky topsoil over a deep rocky base. Vines face a few points north of east, contributing to a fresher, lighter style. Albert Bichot owns a 0.17ha parcel of Chambertin at the top of the hill, bottled under the Domaine du Clos Frantin label. |
